Lara Süß ist eine deutsche Stimm- und Improvisationskünstlerin. Schwerpunkte ihrer Arbeit sind "extended voice" Techniken, die szenische Darstellung von Klang und die Suche nach künstlerisch-kreativen Verbindungsmöglichkeiten von Stimme und Körper. Des Weiteren setzt sie vermehrt Video- und Audio-Aufnahmen sowie eigene Texte ein. Sie arbeitet mit verschiedenen Musiker*innen und Künstler*innen an Projekten, gastierte beim Ensembles Metajean, Zürich und dem Vocal Cargo Collective, Bern und ist Gründungsmitglied des COLLIDE Quartett. Ihr Stück PHOBIA, welches sie gemeinsam mit dem Saxophonisten und Multimedia-Künstler Chi Him Chik entwickelte, wurde im Oktober 2020 am Stadttheater Basel uraufgeführt. 2021 veröffentlichte sie mit ihrem Duo Meandertale ein Album bei Leo Records. Sie ist Gewinnerin des Video-Wettbewerbs "Musical thoughts 4u" im Jahr 2020 und Finalistin des Rhonefestivals #Liedinnovation 2022. Als Performance-Künstlerin transkribiert Lara Süß Musik und Sprache in szenische Bewegung und kreiert dadurch Bilder und Impressionen, die dem Zuschauer ein breites Assoziations- und Interpretationsspektrum erlauben.
 

Lara Süß is a German vocal - and improvisation artist. The main focus of her work lies on the so called "extended voice" techniques as well as the scenic representation of sound and in general the quest of finding creative connections between voice and body. Many of her works include her own video/audio files and also self-written texts. She works with various musicians and artists on different projects and joined the ensembles "Metajean" (Zürich) and "Vocal Cargo Collective" (Bern). Lara Süß co-founded the "COLLIDE" quartett, which was invited to perform at the "Musik Festival Hamm" and the "Lange Nacht der Musik" in Bremen and Oldenburg. Her piece "PHOBIA", which she created together with the Saxophone player and multimedia artist Chi Him Chik, was premiered at the Stadttheater Basel in 2020. With her duo project "Meandertale" she released her first album in collaboration with Leo Records in 2021. In 2020 she won the video contest "Musical thoughts 4u" and was finalist in the Rhomefestival #Liedinnovation in 2022. As a performance artist Lara Süß transcribes music and texts into scenic movement and hereby creates images and impressions, which allow the audience a wide spectrum of association and interpretation.
