University Leadership and Committees
The University of Music is led by the Rectorate, which consists of the Rector, three Prorectors, and the chancellor.
The Senate makes decision about matters relating to research, practice of art, artistic development projects, teaching, studies, dual training and further education, as long as these are not legally assigned to another central body, faculty, or academy.
The University Council accompanies the University, assumes strategic responsibility, makes decisions about the structural and developmental planning and suggests measures which serve to build the University's profile and increase performance ability and competitiveness. It oversees the management of the Rectorat.

AStA - short for Allgemeiner Studierendenausschuss (in English, General Student Committee): enrolled students at a University form the constituted student body (student body). It is a legal entity under public law and as such is a member of the University.
Hochschulleitung und Gremien
Die Musikhochschule wird vom Rektorat geleitet, dem der Rektor, drei Prorektoren sowie der Kanzler angehören.
Der Senat entscheidet in Angelegenheiten von Forschung, Kunstausübung, künstlerischen Entwicklungsvorhaben, Lehre, Studium, dualer Ausbildung und Weiterbildung, soweit diese nicht durch Gesetz einem anderen zentralen Organ, den Fakultäten oder Studienakademien zugewiesen sind.
Der Hochschulrat begleitet die Hochschule, nimmt Verantwortung in strategischer Hinsicht wahr, entscheidet über die Struktur- und Entwicklungsplanung und schlägt Maßnahmen vor, die der Profilbildung und der Erhöhung der Leistungs- und Wettbewerbsfähigkeit dienen. Er beaufsichtigt die Geschäftsführung des Rektorats.

AStA - Allgemeiner Studierendenausschuss: Die immatrikulierten Studierenden (Studierende) einer Hochschule bilden die Verfasste Studierendenschaft (Studierendenschaft). Sie ist eine rechtsfähige Körperschaft des öffentlichen Rechts und als solche eine Gliedkörperschaft der Hochschule.
