The Spanish cellist has been praised by music critics for her passionate, expressive and sensitive playing.
Awarded the First Prize of the Association Suisse des Musiciens and the Austrian State Prize, the Würdigungspreis 2013, she has recorded several concerts for the public radio stations of Switzerland, Italy, Spain (Radio Nacional de España) and Catalonia (Catalunya Radio), which have been picked up by the European Broadcasting Union.
 

In 2004 she made her debut with the Symphony Orchestra of Castile and Leon, Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León, under the direction of Alejandro Posada in Valladolid, Spain. This was followed by other appearances with the orchestra of the Spanish broadcaster, Orquesta Sinfónica de Radio Televisión Española RTVE, the Basel Symphony Orchestra, the Musikkollegium Winterthur, the Argovia Philharmonic, the Orquestra Simfònica del Vallés, the Orquesta Filarmónica de Málaga, the Croatian Radiotelevision Symphony Orchestra, the Plauen-Zwickau Philharmonic Orchestra and also solo performances in some of the great halls of Europe such as the Théâtre des Champs Élysèes (Paris), the Victoria Hall (Geneva), the Stadtcasino (Basel), the Solitär (Salzburg), the Tonhalle Zurich, the Auditorio Nacional de Música of Madrid, the Palau de la Música and the L'Auditori, both of Barcelona, or the Palau de les Arts of Valencia.

The cellist has received numerous prizes in competitions such as the Antonio Janigro in Zagreb, Croatia, the Rahn Music Prize in Zurich, the Primer Palau Prize organized by the Palau de la Música Catalana de Barcelona, the prizes of the Spanish Music Competition for Young Artists, the Concurso Permanente de Jóvenes Intérpretes de España and the interpretation competition, the Certamen de Interpretación “Intercentros Melómano”. She also won third prize in the International Competition in Liezen, Austria, and the Young Artist Award from the Greenhause Foundation in California (USA). In 2015, her artistic career was honored with the Spanish Racimo Prize for the Arts.
Her deep interest in chamber music in all its forms is demonstrated by the enduring duo she formed in 2009 with the Italian pianist Federico Bosso, which was itself awarded first prize at the Salieri-Zinetti International Chamber Music Competition 2015 (Verona). Together, the duo also recorded the album A mon ami with the complete works for cello and piano by F. Chopin and some unpublished works by A. Franchomme for the Odradek Records label.

The cellist's discography also includes the album Baroque Portrait with the Suites by J.S. Bach for solo cello and two previously unrecorded sonatas by J. B. Barrière. 2021 sees the release of the album “Of Love and War” with works by Hindemith, Webern, Debussy, Boulanger, Fauré and Strauss for cello and piano, once again published by Odradek Records.
 

Beatriz Blanco studied with Asier Polo (Musikene), Ivan Monighetti (Basel University of Music), Clemens Hagen (Mozarteum University Salzburg) and Thomas Grossenbacher (Zurich University of the Arts).
 

She was professor of cello and chamber music at the Royal Conservatory, the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música of Madrid. In the academic year 2018-2019 she took over a chair for violoncello at the Landeskonservatorium in Feldkirch, Austria. Since the winter semester 2021/22 she has been teaching at the State University of Music Trossingen. She is a regular guest at festivals and master classes such as the Talis Festival Switzerland, the Academia Sighişoara in Romania and the Curso Santa María del Paular in Madrid.

​Founder and artistic director of the Festival y Academia Ribeira Sacra, a meeting point for artists from all over the world to enjoy and disseminate chamber music in one of the most beautiful areas of Galicia, Spain, and to come into direct contact with the talent development of the younger generations.
She plays a C. Pierray violoncello (Paris 1720), which is in her hands thanks to Dr. Budde.
