Mezzo-soprano Lisa Wedekind began her career as a soloist at the opera houses of Bern, Bonn, Dortmund, Gießen, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Cologne, Mannheim, Magdeburg, Münster, Osnabrück and Weimar. There she worked her way up to the important major roles such as Rosina, Dorabella, Erda, Muse / Niklausse, Hänsel. She was also able to play the role of Ruggiero in Alcina in several productions.

Lisa Wedekind is an equally sought-after concert singer: she sang Bach's B Minor Mass under the baton of Helmuth Rilling in the Liederhalle Stuttgart, in the Thomaskirche Leipzig as well as in the philharmonic halls of Berlin and Essen. She has given recitals and concerts in Germany at the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival on Rügen, in the Liederhalle Stuttgart and the Frankfurt Opera, in the Polish Chamber Philharmonic Sopot as well as in Austria and Finland. A chamber music tour lasting several weeks took her to various cities in South Africa, such as Stellenbosch, Paarl, Windhoek and Swellendam, with both duets and chamber music works for voice, string quartet and horn.

She won several important prizes: 1st prize in the German National Singing Competition, the special prize for the best song interpretation, 1st prize in the GEDOK Song Competition and 1st prize in the German University Competition in Freiburg for her interpretation of Pierrot Lunaire by A. Schönberg.

In addition to her singing activities, Lisa Wedekind is passionately dedicated to teaching, first as a lecturer for singing at the University of Music, Theatre and Media Hanover and then at the University of Music Saar. She also teaches a private singing class, is a partner in the study of parts, conducts vocal-technical further education courses as well as audition training for professional singers and supervises several choirs in individual and group voice training.
