Vita

Stefan R. Halder completed his school music and diploma music teacher studies at the State College of Music in Trossingen. This was followed by artistic postgraduate studies in conducting (class of Prof. Manfred Schreier) and clarinet (class of Prof. Chen Halevi).

In 2004, Halder received a teaching assignment for clarinet at the Trossingen University of Music. In particular, school music students were taught by him in their main subject. He also became the contact person for wind music at the university and in 2005 he became a lecturer for wind orchestra conducting.

In order to enable students to gain regular conducting practice, he took over the direction of the Stadtkapelle Trossingen from 2008 to 2014, which has since then served as a seminar orchestra. This top-class orchestra rehearsed the most demanding works and performed them alternately under student and his direction.

From 2011 to 2017 Stefan R. Halder was also artistic director and conductor of the Stadtkapelle Rottenburg. During these years he also worked closely with the Saxon Philharmonic Wind Orchestra.

Since June 2014 Stefan R. Halder has been the musical director of the Baden-Württemberg State Police Orchestra, since March 2015 officially its chief conductor.

Under his leadership, the orchestra can look back on a large number of highly acclaimed concerts, despite its reduced orchestra size. Regular cooperation with renowned soloists such as Fola Dada, Kevin Tarte, Jasmin Kolberg, Kemal Gekic and many more are signs of how highly regarded orchestra and conductor are in the most diverse musical genres.

In addition to the training of young conductors, Stefan R. Halder attaches great importance to the promotion of young composers from Baden-Württemberg. In this way, many new works for wind orchestra have been created in recent years.

As a guest conductor, he has worked with the Federal Police Orchestra Munich and the Bavarian Police Orchestra, among others. He works as a juror in Europe and Asia. Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)
