Vita

Ákos Hernádi is a representative of the younger generation of pianists. He comes from a family of musicians in Budapest and received his education at the traditional music academy of his home town, where he attended the "preparatory section for extraordinary talents" at the age of 11. His pianistic-musical development is due to such outstanding artists as Nádor, Lefébure, Vásáry and Kurtág. Already during his studies he won several international competition awards.

After obtaining his master's diploma, Ákos Hernádi took over teaching activities at the Franz Liszt University of Music. In addition to the conventional repertoire, he is intensively involved with contemporary works. Radio recordings and CD productions reflect his broad pianistic spectrum. His latest CD with piano works by Kodály has been highly praised by various professional journals. Ákos Hernádi has a teaching position for piano chamber music at the Musikhochschule Trossingen.
