The Finnish pianist Pauliina Tukiainen has made a name for herself as a multi-faceted interpreter and as a sought-after professor for song interpretation.

She studied piano in her home country and in Frankfurt am Main. During her studies with Hartmut Höll and Anne Le Bozec in Zürich and Karlsruhe, she was given numerous prizes and scholarships. She received further artistic impulses from Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Ralf Gothóni, Thomas Hampson, Christoph Prégardien, and Wolfgang Rihm. 

Pauliina Tukiainen has performed in Europe, including at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin, in the Musikverein in Vienna, in the Tonhalle Zürich, in the Oslo Konserthus, at the Hugo Wolf Academy, at theFestspielen Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, at the Bodenseefestival, at the Fundación Juan March in Madrid, and at the Enescu Festival in Bucharest as well as in South Africa, India, and Vietnam.

A long-term artistic and programmatic collaboration has connected Pauliina Tukiainen with the Bon Schumannfest, where she has produced a stage for young song duos.

Concert recordings were made by numerous German and foreign radio stations. After her critically acclaimed debut CD "Mirrors" with works by Sibelius and  Saariaho, further records appeared from the label Coviello Classics with songs by Berg, Debussy, Schumann, Strauss, and Wagner as well as a first recording by Wolfgang Rihms "Ophelia sings." Her CD "Serious Songs"  with the baritone Arttu Kataja by Alba Records was nominated in 2020 by the Finnish Radio ass "Album of the Year." The newest recording of the duo is Schubert's Winterreise, appearing on the label Alba Classics in January 2022.

In addition to her concert activities, she teaches song interpretation at the Musikhochschulen in Frankfurt am Main and Freiburg and is a sought-after docent at masterclasses, workshops, and jury member at competitions.

Since October 2017 Pauliina Tukiainen ist professor of song interpretation at the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg.

Die finnische Pianistin Pauliina Tukiainen hat sich als vielseitige Interpretin sowie als gefragte Professorin für Liedgestaltung einen Namen gemacht.

Sie studierte Klavier in ihrem Heimatland sowie in Frankfurt am Main. Während ihres Liedstudiums bei Hartmut Höll und Anne Le Bozec in Zürich und Karlsruhe wurden ihr zahlreiche Preise und Stipendien verliehen. Weitere künstlerische Impulse erhielt sie von Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Ralf Gothóni, Thomas Hampson, Christoph Prégardien und  Wolfgang Rihm. 

Pauliina Tukiainen konzertierte in Europa u. a. in der Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin, im Musikverein in Wien, in der Tonhalle Zürich, im Oslo Konserthus, bei der Hugo-Wolf-Akademie, bei den Festspielen Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, beim Bodenseefestival, bei der Fundación Juan March in Madrid, beim Enescu Festival in Bukarest sowie in Südafrika, Indien und Vietnam.

Eine langjährige künstlerische und programmatische Zusammenarbeit verbindet Pauliina Tukiainen mit dem Bonner Schumannfest, wo sie ein Podium auch für jüngere Liedduos geschaffen hat.

Konzertmitschnitte sind bei zahlreichen deutschen und ausländischen Rundfunkanstalten entstanden. Nach ihrer auch in der Presse hochgelobten Debut-CD „Mirrors“ mit Werken von Sibelius und  Saariaho erschienen weitere Aufnahmen beim Label Coviello Classics mit Liedern von Berg, Debussy, Schumann, Strauss und Wagner sowie eine Ersteinspielung von Wolfgang Rihms „Ophelia sings“. Ihre CD „Serious Songs“  mit dem Bariton Arttu Kataja bei Alba Records wurde vom Finnischen Rundkfunk 2020 als „Album of the year“ nominiert.  Die neueste Aufnahme des Duos ist Schuberts Winterreise, erschienen bei Alba Classics im Januar 2022.

Neben ihrer Konzerttätigkeit unterrichtete sie Liedgestaltung an den Musikhochschulen in Frankfurt am Main und Freiburg und ist als Dozentin bei Meisterkursen, Workshops sowie als Jurorin bei Wettbewerben gefragt.

Seit Oktober 2017 ist Pauliina Tukiainen Professorin für Liedgestaltung an der Universität Mozarteum Salzburg.
