Susanna Borsch was born in Hamburg, Germany, and studied recorder with Walter van Hauwe at the Amsterdam Conservatory where she completed her teaching and solo (masters) diplomas. Her collaboration with composers on new solo and ensemble repertoire resulted in the recording of several CDs and many concerts in Europe, the Unites States and Australia.

A recorder virtuoso familiar with both contemporary and early music, Susanna Borsch is an instrumentalist able to bridge both styles of music with complete ease. She plays in several ensembles: the renaissance recorder consort Mezzaluna; ELECTRA, a four-member modern music ensemble combining the latest music with visual and theatrical elements. Since 2009 Susanna also plays in Dapper's Delight, a duo of recorder and anglo concertina, formed to explore popular dance music and songs of the period 1550-1750. In 2015, Susanna joined the recorder quartet Brisk Recorder Quartet Amsterdam. In 2020 she was invited to join the Germany-based recorder quartet Flautando Köln.

Since April 2014 Susanna Borsch is a teacher at the Trossingen University of  Music.
