Vita

Sabine A. Werner studied elocution art in the artistic diploma course in elocution education at the State Academy for Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart with Barbara Haecker. While still a student, she received a teaching position at the Trossingen University of Music and Performing Arts, and one year later also at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts. For many years, she taught a main subject class for elocution.  Today she teaches as a full-time lecturer for elocution at the University of Music Trossingen and is artistic director of the "O-TON ensemble wort", which she founded.

To dedicate herself to the lively shaping of the spoken word and to make it a living experience.
the musicality of language, is the credo of the young
enthusiastic formation, which has long since won over the public and press with its productions. The repertoire of the "O-TON ensemble wort" of the State Academy of Music Trossingen ranges from full-length stage programmes with wit and profundity, vocal acrobatics and recitation, radio play productions, interdisciplinary projects and commissioned works to performances in cooperation with libraries, general education schools, kindergartens or theatres.

Sabine A. Werner is also successful with her communication training SPRECHKONZEPT in the field of speech training and works with executives from business and politics.

With her recitation programmes, readings and performances, she is a guest on podiums in Germany and other European countries. Her programmes have led her to guest performances at the Schauspielhaus Zurich, the Alte Oper Frankfurt, the Musikwinter Gschwend, the Ludwigsburg Schlossfestspiele and many more. As a long-standing member of the "studio gesprochenes wort" she has been able to work with Peter Härtling, Helmut Heißenbüttel, Karl Moersch and others. She also found artistic inspiration in the collaboration with the St. Petersburg actor and director Jurij A. Vassiljev.

For many years, Sabine A. Werner's work has focused on intensive collaboration with instrumentalists and her fascination with new music. In collaboration with the composer Norbert Fröhlich and the clarinettist Albrecht Friedrich, she created the full-length kitchen opera "anselm, antonia und der böse caspar" for 1 female voice and 1 clarinetist, which was premiered in the Zimmertheater Rottweil and was received enthusiastically.
With her ensemble "RondoParlando" she wins over audiences and critics alike through the delightful encounter between spoken word and music for clarinet in her spoken concerts.

CD, radio and television productions are as much a part of her artistic profile as her participation in festivals as a speaker and director and her work as a juror at literature competitions.
Sabine A. Werner is the winner of the Elle Hoffmann Prize for the Art of Speech.
