Roxana Ionescu-Beck was born in Romania and began her piano studies at the University of Music in Bucharest. After 2 years she transferred to the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Weimar, where she received her artistic diploma in piano. She has worked in master classes with Lorry Wallfish (USA), Alexis Weissenberg (Switzerland), Christian Beldi and Klaus Hellwig (Germany), among others. She has also won prizes at various Romanian and Italian piano competitions.
This was followed by a further diploma in opera accompaniment and a busy career as an accompanist, orchestral pianist and song accompanist. After engagements as a répétiteur at the Landestheater Linz and as head of studies at the Stadttheater Koblenz, she moved to Switzerland in 2012 and worked as a répétiteur at the Theater St. Gallen until 2022.
Roxana Ionescu-Beck has been a guest lecturer for vocal accompaniment at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik Trossingen since April 2022, teaches in Eastern Switzerland and performs in various ensembles and styles in Switzerland, Germany and Romania.
