Livia Kretschmann, born 1984 in Freudenstadt, Germany, received violin lessons since early childhood and later singing lessons with Renate Brosch in Stuttgart. From 2004-2008 she studied singing at the Musikhochschule Trossingen with Prof. Andreas Reibenspies.

From 2008-2011 she completed a master's degree at the Mozarteum in Salzburg with Prof. Helene Schneiderman, and in the opera class with Prof. Reinhard Seifried and Prof. Eike Gramss. Within the framework of the Mozarteum's opera class, he performed in several opera productions, including Ottavia in Monteverdi's L'incoronzione di Poppea, Fillipievna in Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin and Idamantes in Mozart's Idomeneo, in a production of the Mozart Opera Institute Salzburg. In 2013 she completed a master's degree in Lied interpretation at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts with Prof. Cornelis Witthoefft.

In southern Germany, Austria, Greece, Italy, Switzerland and France, she has performed as a soloist in numerous oratorios, as a Lied interpreter and in various chamber music ensembles, including Bach's Mass in B Minor, St. John Passion, St. Matthew Passion, Handel's Messiah, Pergolesi's Stabat Mater, Mozart's Requiem, Mahler's 2nd Symphony and Kindertotenlieder. In the field of contemporary music, she sang at the Donauerschinger Musiktage in 2007 and could be heard at the Biennale Salzburg in 2011. In 2011/12 she was a member of the SWR Vokalensemble Stuttgart under the direction of Marcus Creed. She attended master classes with Renate Ackermann, Andreas Homoki, Hilde Zadek, Thomas Moser, Mario Diaz, Angelika Kirchschlager and others.

Since SS 2012 she has been a lecturer for singing at the Musikhochschule Trossingen.
