Katrin Zagrosek is a cultural manager with a broad horizon. After studying music and cultural studies, she worked as a freelancer for the most internationally renowned cultural institutions and festivals such as the Musik-Biennale Berlin (today: Märzmusik), the Berliner Festwochen, the Innsbrucker Festwochen für Alte Musik, the Salzburg Easter Festival, the Théâtre et Musique in Paris and the Lincoln Center Festival in New York.

Between 2002 and 2006, she worked as a music dramaturge and advisor to General Music Director Karen Kamensek at the Freiburg Theater, where she designed the Philharmonic Orchestra's concert series and also developed new music education formats for children and young people. As project manager of the “Hamburger Ostertöne” festival, Katrin Zagrosek subsequently (2006 to 2012) shaped the program concept and development of the festival directed by Simone Young. In 2008 (until 2011), she also took over the production management of “Wien Modern”, Austria's largest festival for contemporary music. In 2012, Katrin Zagrosek became artistic director of the Niedersächsische Musiktage, and from 2024 she will be artistic director and managing director of the Ruhr Piano Festival.
