Dr. Joachim Goßmann works at the interface of technology, philosophy and creative practice in audio-centric media environments. He holds a Tonmeister diploma from the UdK, Berlin, an MFA in Media Composition from the California Institute of the Arts and a PhD in Computer Music from the University of California, San Diego.

His professional career has taken him to Fraunhofer IAIS in Bonn, ZKM Karlsruhe, Qualcomm Institute in San Diego, and DTS, Inc. where he worked as a developer, programmer and inventor on prototypes in the field of virtual and augmented reality, sound spatialization in electroacoustic music, object-based audio formats, and the conflict between time-based content and interaction.
