Vita

Holger Dominik Spegg studied piano (with Vitali Margulis) and music theory (with Ekkehard Kiem) at the Freiburg Academy of Music; further degrees followed in Hannover (piano with Vladimir Krajnew) and Karlsruhe (soloist exams with Dinorah Varsi, Miguel Proenca and Fany Solter). Since 2002 he has been teaching music theory and aural training at the Stuttgart Music School. He is a full-time employee at the Trossinger Musikhochschule in the subject of correpetition.

Holger Spegg has given solo concerts at the Timisoara Festival (Romania), at the University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and with the Warsaw Radio Symphony Orchestra. His pianistic profile, however, is mainly chamber music oriented: He is a member of the Johannes Kreisler Trio together with Christoph Schickedanz (Prof. f. Violin Hamburg) and Mathias Beyer-Karlshoj (Henschel Quartet) and played in various duo and quartet formations with Roland Glassl (Mandelring Quartet), Markus Nyikos (Prof. f. Cello in Berlin), Akio Koyama (Prof. f. Bassoon Trossingen) and others. As a chamber musician he has performed at renowned international concert series and festivals in Germany, Denmark and Japan. From 2003 to 2015 he was the artistic director of the Saitenklangfestival Leutkirch/Allgäu, which he co-founded. He is the author of the two volumes of "Musikdetektive", which were published by edition con brio/Hug-Verlag in 2011/2012.

CD recordings with Holger Spegg have been released on the labels "melibokus", "audite" and "telos".
