Born and raised in a family of musicians in Weimar, Gerlinde Dippon initially studied prehistory and early history, geology and anthropology in Tübingen and Thailand. After completing her studies, she worked in the cultural department of the University of Tübingen as head of organisation for the Tübingen Chamber Orchestra and was co-organiser of the university concerts. From 2004 to 2006, she was entrusted with the organisation of the state competition "Jugend musiziert" at the Landesmusikrat Baden-Württemberg, for which she took over the project management in 2007. As part of her work at the State Music Council, she was also responsible as project manager for the preliminary round of the "German Orchestra Competition" and for the chamber music course Baden-Württemberg. Since 2014, Gerlinde Dippon has been working as an assistant to the artistic director of the Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen. Her responsibilities include the management of special projects of the orchestra, ranging from music projects with refugees to the establishment of a concert series for people with dementia.
