Florian Käppler, born in Stuttgart in 1969, studied jazz and popular music as well as film composition at the Berklee College of Music in Boston (USA) and at the State Colleges of Music in Hamburg and Stuttgart. At the Transart Institute, New York, he completed the Master of Fine Arts in New Media (M.F.A.) with distinction. Within the framework of this interdisciplinary master class, he worked on the sound conceptional research project "Symphony of the Names", which explores the artistic and technical possibilities of translating language into music.

He received his first international major recording contract at the age of 20. This was followed by more than 60 published compositions as co-founder of the bands "Helga Pictures" and "Die Schande" on major labels (EMI, Sony, Polygram, BMG) as well as music productions with Dieter Falk, Nina Hagen, Tobias Künzel (Die Prinzen), Ben Becker, Dirk Bach and more than 300 live concerts in Europe and the USA. a. as support act and opener for New Model Army (European tour), The Ramones (Bizarre Festival), Rammstein (German tour), Melissa Etheridge and Gianna Nannini (German tour), Bob Geldof and Blur On TV he played live on VIVA (Heike Makatsch), MTV, in the legendary WDRRockpalast, in the ARD TV series "Die Partner" (with Jan Josef Liefers and Ann-Kathrin Kramer) and in the US TV show "Let`s Rock with Basil Gold" (together with Lemmy von Motörhead and Ronny James Dio).

As a composer, art director and sound artist Florian Käppler creates audio productions in the fields of spatial sound, (art) film, museums, sound installation, events and advertising. He is managing partner of KLANGERFINDER GmbH & Co. KG in Stuttgart, which with twelve employees (composers, sound designers and sound engineers) is one of the largest private audio facilities in southern Germany. Florian Käppler is a state-approved trainer for the professions of media designer for image and sound (IHK) and audio-visual media merchant (IHK), and completed a two-year part-time study course to become a media marketing manager (BAW).

Many of the projects Florian Käppler has designed in terms of sound have been awarded national and international prizes, including the Golden Award of Montreux, gold medals at the New York Film and Video Awards, the Cannes Lion, the Adolf Grimme Prize, and the Golden Bear at the 2006 Berlinale for Best Feature Film. In 2006 Florian Käppler was accepted into the Art Director`s Club Germany (ADC). 

In the Art Director's Club, he promotes the strategic use of sound in the design of brands and has been a jury member of the ADC Awards, Germany, since 2006. He is also a member of the GEMA, the German Composers' Association (DKV), the Composers Club, the Association of German Sound Engineers (VDT), and the German Society for Music Psychology (DGM).
