Abbie Conant studied with Dee Stewart of the Philadelphia Orchestra, with Per Brevig of the Metropolitan Opera and at the Cologne Musikhochschule with Branimir Slokar. She passed her final exams at Temple University, the famous Juilliard School and the Cologne University of Music. Besides her work as a soloist, she was principal trombonist of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra for 13 years. She has recorded an internationally acclaimed CD with trombone and organ music and is a founding member of "The Wasteland Company". The International Trombone Association Journal has awarded Abbie Conant a rank "in the front row of the world's best trombonists". 

Since 1992 she has been professor for trombone at the Trossingen College of Music.
