Julie Stewart-Lafin is one of the leading flutists in Europe. Since her early success in international competitions and her solo debut with the London Symphony Orchestra in 1997, Julie has enjoyed an extensive and varied musical life with solo appearances and chamber music throughout Europe. Appearances with the Achord Quintet, Ensemble Villa Musica, and Ensemble 94 have enabled her to develop a great interest in the area of chamber music, where she has appeared as both a flutist and a pianist.

Since 2002, she has performed as solo flute with the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra and has been a guest solo flute with various other orchestras, including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra London, Radio Orchestra Saarbrücken, Stuttgart Philharmonic, Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona, and Teatro alla Scala in Milan. Masterclasses all over Europe have made it possible for her to impart her experiences to the next generation. Aside from her performances, she has a great interest in the manufacturing of flute head joints and has arranged many works for flute ensembles.
