Welcome to Windhoek Version 4!
„Fresh Air“ – a festival celebrating the vitality of new music for Wind through the power of artistic mentoring and exchange. This year we are proud to bring to Trossingen two leading voices in today’s musical landscape: Philippe Hersant, with his unmistakable lyricism and depth, and Nina Šenk, whose bold, imaginative sound worlds have captivated audiences across Europe.
Our distinguished Woodwind and Brass Professors, together with their gifted students from the Trossingen Musikhochschule, form the beating heart of this festival. They will perform a wide range of works by our featured composers, and new pieces written especially for them by students of the School. There are 3 concerts, two one hour events and one full evening concert, as well as two more informal events. In one of these we will hear the two composers talk about their lives and their work with interludes of their solo pieces, and there will also be an informal presentation of works written by composers from Professor Sven Daigger’s class.
