Spätestens seit dem Gewinn des 1. Preises beim renommierten ARD-Wettbewerb ist Fabrice Millischer nicht mehr nur dem Fachpublikum ein Begriff. Vielmehr ist der erst 28-Jährige bereits in jungen Jahren der einzige 1. Preisträger im Fach Posaune überhaupt und damit einer der bekanntesten Posaunisten der jungen Generation.
Fabrice Millischer begann seine musikalische Ausbildung am Konservatorium im Toulouse. Seine Liebe zur Musik begann für das Kind einer Musikerfamilie am Klavier, sehr bald galt sein Interesse dem Violoncello und der Posaune – beide Instrumente studierte er am Konservatorium in Toulouse und beendete sein Studium mit Höchstnoten. Noch immer unentschieden, welches der beiden Instumente sein „Favorit“ werden solle, entschied er sich, an das CNSMD in Lyon in die Posaunenklassen von Michel Becquet, Alain Manfrin und Daniel Lassalle zu gehen und gleichzeitig seine musikalische Karriere auf dem Cello bei Philippe Muller, Roland Pidoux und Xavier Philips in Paris fortzusetzen.
2006 gründete er zusammen mit Aurélien Honoré, Jean-Philippe Navrez und Fabien Dornic das Posaunenquartett „Quartbone“. Das Quartett widmet sich vor allem der Entwicklung der Posaune vom Barock bis heute.
Fabrice Millischer konzertiert regelmässig mit bekannten Barockensembles wie „Le Concert des Nations“ von Jordi Savall, den „Sacqueboutiers“ von Daniel Lassalle und Jean-Pierre Canihac, dem „Insula Orchestra“ von Laurence Equilbey.
Als gefragter Solist gastiert er bei renommierten Orchestern wie dem Wiener Kammerorchester, dem SWR-Radiosinfonieorchester Stuttgart, der Philharmonie Baden-Baden, dem Orchester „Hermitage“ aus Sankt Petersburg, dem Capitole Sinfonieorchester Toulouse, dem Sinfonieorchester Cannes, den Nancy Staatsoper, dem National Orchester der Ukraine, der Hong-Kong Sinfonietta, dem Kyushu Sinfonieorchester, dem Taiwan Sinfonieorchester. Konzertreisen führen ihn u.a. nach Washington, Sao Paulo, Peking, Tokyo, Seoul, München, Genf und Paris. Er trat auf beim Workshop ETW, Epsival, die Blasinstrumente in Dombes, Limoux Cuivrée Spéciale, Lieksa Brass Week und Projeto Bone Brasil,…
Von 2008 bis 2013 ist Fabrice Millischer Solo-Posaunist der „Deutschen Radio Philharmonie Saarbrücken Kaiserslautern“.
Mehrere zeitgenössische Werke für Posaune wurden ihm gewidmet: Das „Konzert für Posaune und Blechbläserensemble“ von Jean Guillou, das „Konzert für Posaune und Orchester“ von Patrick Burgan „La chute de Lucifer“, sowie „Libretto“ von Etienne Perruchon und „L’appel sauvage” von Alain Celo, das Konzert für Posaune und Blasorchester von Jean-Pascal Beintus.
Neben dem Gewinn des ARD- Wettbewerbes ist Fabrice Millischer auch Preisträger des Internationalen Wettbewerbs für Posaune in Budapest (2005) und des Wettbewerbs für Barockposaune in Toulouse (2006). Seit 2009 ist er auch Teilnehmer am Programm „Déclic“ der AFAA , das die Förderung junger Künstler unterstützt. Im selben Jahr wurde er mit der Silbernen Medaille der „Académie des Arts et Lettres” ausgezeichnet.
2011 gewann er den „französchen Echo“ – den „Victoires de la Musique“ in der Gattung bester Nachwuchskünstler und den EchoKlassik Preis in 2014 für die Konzerteinspielung des Jahres (CD-Aufnahme “French Trombone Concertos”). Er war auch hier der erste Posaunist überhaupt, dem diese gelangen.
Trotz seines jungen Alters ist Fabrice Millischer darüberhinaus bereits ein gefragter Lehrer seines Instruments – ein Bereich, der ihm persönlich sehr am Herzen liegt. Seit 2008 unterrichtet er am Konservatorium von Paul Dukas in Paris, seit 2009 als Professor für Posaune an der Hochschule für Musik Saar. Dazu wird er regelmäßig zu europäischen und internationalen Meisterkursen eingeladen.
Fabrice Millischer ist gegenwartig Professor für Posaune an der Musikhochschule Freiburg und an de “Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse” in Paris.
Fabrice Millischer ist Künstler des Hauses „Antoine Courtois Paris“ und spielt auf der Posaune Legend 420 NSBHST.

Upon winning first prize in the ARD International Music Competition, Fabrice Millischer is recognised as one of the most gifted contemporary trombone players in Europe. The 41-years-old is the first winner of this challenging competition in the category of trombone. He is well known not only among professional musicians, but also among those fond of classical music in general. Millischer started his musical education at the Conservatoire of Toulouse. Exposed to music since childhood, his love for music started with the piano, turned to the cello and ultimately to the trombone. He studied both instruments at the Conservatory of Toulouse and obtained highest marks on his graduation exams. Yet undecided between cello and trombone, he entered the CNSMD of Lyon where he took master classes on the trombone with Michel Becquet and Alain Manfrin and on the sackbut with Daniel Lassalle. At the same time, he continued his education on the cello at the CNSMD of Paris, taught by Philippe Muller, Roland Pidoux and Xavier Philips.
In 2020 he formed the "Millischer Trombone Quartet" with Kris Garfitt, Roberto de la Guia and Pierre Campenon. This Trombone Quartet devoted its work to the topic of the development of the trombone from the Baroque period until the present.
Fabrice Millischer is frequently on tour with such famous Baroque groups as “Le Concert de Nations” under the direction of Jordi Savall, “Sasqueboutiers” conducted by Daniel Lassalle and Jean-Pierre Canihac, and “Insula Orchestra” by Laurence Equilbey.
A soloist in frequent demand, he has been invited to play with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, the BR Symphony Orchestra Munich, the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonic Orchestra Baden-Baden, Philharmonic Orchestra Freiburg, Southwest Philharmonic Orchestra Konstanz, Augsburg Symphony Orchestra, Köln Chamber Orchestra, Bavarian Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra, Hong Kong Sinfonietta, Osaka Symphony Orchestra, the State Hermitage Orchestra in St. Petersburg, the National Orchestra of the Capitol in Toulouse, the Symphony Orchestra in Cannes and the Ukrainian National Orchestra. On his tours Millischer has visited Washington, Beijing, Tokyo, Seoul, Munich, Geneva, Madrid, Berlin, Porto (to name a few) and has participated in festivals devoted to brass instruments (e.g. the Eastern Trombone Workshop, the Epsival, the Cuivres en Dombes, Limoux Brass Festival, Surgères Brass Festival, Epsival, Samedan Brass Week, Lieksa Brass Week, Lille Trombone Festival, Isla Verde Festival, Slider Asia Festival, Italian Brass Week,...)
Between 2008 and 2013, Fabrice Millischer has been solo trombonist with the German Radio Philharmonic Orchestra Saarbrücken/Kaiserslautern.
Taking a great interest in the music of our time, he has contributed to the creation of a number of works for the trombone. Many contemporary musical pieces have been composed and dedicated to Fabrice Millischer: “Trombone Concerto for Trombone and Brass Ensemble” by Jean Guillou, “Trombone Concerto for Trombone and Orchestra” by Patrick Burgan (referred to as “La chute de Lucifer”), “Libretto” by Etienne Perruchon and “FM Qoncerto” by Steven Verhelst.
Besides winning the first prize in the ARD International Music Competition in Munich, he has also been laureate in other international competitions for the trombone: Budapest (2005) and the competition of Sacqueboute in Toulouse (2006). Since 2009 he has been an active participant in the“Déclic” Programme of the AFAA (Association française d’action artistique) which promotes young talents. Also in 2009 he was awarded the Silver Medal of the Academy of Arts and Letters.
In 2011 Millischer became the first trombonist to be awarded the first prize in the category “Revelation Instrumental Soloist” by the “Victoires de la Musique Classique.” In the same year, he was recognized by the prestigious Académie Charles-Cros (Charles Cros Academy) with its grand prize.
Despite his young age, Fabrice Millischer is a highly sought Professor of Trombone. In 2008 he taught at the Conservatoire Paul Dukas in Paris and in 2009 he became Professor of Trombone at the Hochschule für Music Saar (Saarland College of Music). This made him the youngest professor for trombone in Germany.
