Workshop mit Seraph Brass
The musicians of Seraph Brass invite you:
- 02 October: Gala concert / opening concert with Seraph Brass
- 03 October: Brass workshop with all five members of Seraph Brass in the concert hall of the university
Seraph Brass was founded by trumpet soloist Mary Elizabeth Bowden with the aim of showcasing the excellence of female brass players and promoting female musicians. Their playing has won them the American Prize in Chamber Music and they have been praised for their ‘beautiful sound’ (American Record Guide), their ‘fine playing’ (Gramophone) and their ‘impressively high performance quality’ (Textura).
Seraph Brass performs a diverse repertoire ranging from original transcriptions to newly commissioned works and classics. The members of Seraph Brass are passionate about music education and teach at the University of North Texas, Shenandoah Conservatory, Texas State University and Texas Lutheran University.
The soloists of Seraph Brass also perform with symphony and wind orchestras as well as other chamber music artists. At the concert in Trossingen, the ensemble will present a cross-over programme including adaptations from Bach to W.A. Mozart and Giuseppe Verdi as well as titles from Gershwin and Bernstein to Frank Sinatra. The programme will be presented by Jasmin Bachmann, who has worked for the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, the Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra and as a music educator with the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra and the SWR Symphony Orchestra.
