Klaus Schuhwerk

Professor of trumpet at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt am Main.

Born in Radolfzell a.B. in 1961, Klaus Schuhwerk was already a multiple national prizewinner in the ‘Jugend musiziert’ competition as a schoolboy. He completed his studies in Trossingen, Basel and Chicago and was a prizewinner in the 1984 ‘Concerts of Young Artists’ national competition. Klaus Schuhwerk is a teacher in the German National Youth Orchestra, the Young German Philharmonic Orchestra and the World Youth Orchestra. He has given numerous masterclasses at music academies including Antwerp, Düsseldorf, Karlsruhe, Saarbrücken, Salzburg and Trossingen. Following teaching assignments at the University of Mainz, the Karlsruhe University of Music and the Munich University of Music, Klaus Schuhwerk has been a professor of his own trumpet class at the Basel University of Music since October 2000. Since 2003, he has also held a professorship for trumpet at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts.
