"...great sound, brilliant and virtuosic technique, and enthralling agogic and interpretation ensure true listening pleasure..." (Eurowinds)

Cordula Weil is a flute and piccolo player. At the age of eight Cordula began playing the flute and at 14 she discovered her enthusiasm for the piccolo. She studied with Hermann Klemeyer in Würzburg, with Lóránt Kovacs in Budapest and with Michael Faust in Düsseldorf. In addition, Cordula has been mentored in her career by many flute and piccolo players such as Aurèle Nicolet, Andrea Lieberknecht, Renate Greiss, Nicola Mazzanti and Natalie Schwaabe.

Cordula’s greatest passion is both orchestral and chamber music. At the moment, she is holding an orchestra position in Philharmonic State Orchestra in Mainz and had a one-year-contract at the Frankfurt Radio Symphony orchestra as solo-piccoloist in 2023/2024. In addition, she is regularly invited to perform with orchestras such as the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, the Gürzenich-Orchestra Cologne, the SWR Symphony Orchestra and the WDR Symphony Orchestra and has played under conductors such as Mariss Jansons, David Zinman, Paavo Järvi, Jakob Hrusa, Alain Altinoglu, Marin Alsop, Ton Koopman and Michael Jurowski.

In the duo Picconnection, Cordula Weil and pianist Ekaterine Kintsurashvili have made it their mission to discover and present piccolo literature. In the dreamlike combination of flute and harp, Cordula performs in the duo Il Sogno with harpist Bettina Linck.

She is also the piccolo teacher of the Trossingen University of Music.
