Third-party funding

The Trossingen University of Music is a university with a strong track record in third-party funding, with numerous projects in the fields of art, science and art education. The contact person for third-party funded projects is the Prorector for Studies, Teaching and Research, Prof. Dr. Philipp Ahner. The following third-party funded projects are currently being carried out at the university:

An overview of the projects

The project MidiR (Music Studies in the Digital Space), funded by the Foundation for Innovation in Higher Education, aims to anchor the cross-sectional topic of digitality more firmly in the everyday life of the university and in the curricula of the degree programs. Changes are reflected in four areas of work (Thinking:Space), classrooms are equipped with innovative technologies (Performance:Space), further training for and with teachers is developed and implemented (Teaching:Space), and digitality is anchored as a cross-cutting topic in the university's curricula (Program:Space).

about the project

The Trossingen University of Music is a partner of the Netzwerk 4.0. This network of 18 of the 24 music universities in Germany, with a total of around 13,500 students, sees itself as a strategic alliance for jointly tapping the potential of digitization for teaching and studying at music universities.

about the project

Artificial intelligence is changing all areas of life and work – including the creative process. We now have the chance to rethink and practice art and AI in a new way.
The Trossingen University of Music is part of the joint project “Artificial Intelligence Service and Systems – KISS”, funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).

on the main subject of study

In the LEVIKO-XR project network, the University of Osnabrück, the Trossingen University of Music and the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences are developing teaching and learning designs based on virtual and augmented reality for music teaching and music teacher training. Together with state institutes and music academies, these are evaluated, implemented in further training formats and made available via the usual OER repositories.

Informations on the project
on the LEVIKO-Website

The lernen:digital competence network is shaping the dialogue between science and practice for the digital transformation of schools and teacher training. Four competence centers combine expertise from around 200 cross-national research and development projects in the fields of STEM, languages/society/economics, music/art/sports, and school development. The projects develop evidence-based further education and training, materials, and concepts for school and teaching development in a culture of digitality. A transfer office makes the results visible to teachers, promotes co-constructive further development with practitioners, and supports nationwide transfer to teacher training. The lernen:digital competence network is financed by the European Union – NextGenerationEU and funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research.

The aim of KuMuS-ProNeD is to establish an integrative overall concept for teacher training in the form of three interdisciplinary and cross-phase networks (further training, teaching development and advice, Future Innovation Hub).
