Preparation for a career in arts and education
In the music education profile, you will learn how to empower people to become creative themselves so that they can plan and implement music design projects independently.
In the first module, you will carry out two guided music pedagogy practical projects for different target groups. In an accompanying didactic seminar, we will reflect with you on the planning, implementation and design of teaching and learning processes. In addition, you will complete a compact music pedagogy internship and choose an educational science seminar: either educational sociology or teaching professionalism.
In the second module, you will develop your own practical project based on your interests. This project will also be discussed and further developed in the accompanying didactic seminar. In addition, you will expand your teaching practice to include health-conscious teaching and learning strategies. The profile concludes with a graded teaching demonstration and a colloquium in which teaching concepts and reflections are discussed in the context of practice-oriented and academic music education.
This profile prepares you for careers in arts education in a variety of contexts. With a bachelor's degree, you will receive an additional qualification (supplement) that is required for positions in state educational institutions, for example. This profile also opens up the possibility of pursuing a master's degree in education.

- Competence in the conception and implementation of diverse, interdisciplinary projects in music education and music design practice, as well as reflection and analysis of one's own and observed music education processes.
- Theoretical development and practical application of a diverse repertoire of didactic concepts, teaching methods, tasks, forms of communication, and motivational techniques for both group and individual lessons.
- Reflection and discussion of teaching practice in the context of classroom observation.
- Fundamentals of various educational theories and learning theories and methods.
