Information at a glance

Do you have diverse interests and talents and would like to try out and network in addition to your main artistic subject? Creative Arts Practice (CAP for short) offers you the opportunity to study in an interdisciplinary manner and take advantage of the wide range of courses offered by our university. You can develop individually – both through one-to-one lessons and in interdisciplinary projects where you interact with students and lecturers from other artistic fields.

Creative Arts Practice focuses on personal artistic practice and the development of artistic versatility. You will experiment and network in an interdisciplinary manner. Experiments are welcome and have plenty of scope in the individually tailored curriculum

  • options for both individual lessons and group events
  • the development of independent artistic concepts
  • learning and artistic work in mixed groups and ensembles

Creative Arts Practice opens up opportunities for you to

  • develop your own artistic concepts and communicate them to others
  • deepen your understanding of the use of artistic means, especially technology in a creative context and in the field of directing/dramaturgy
  • develop communication and reflection skills to effectively shape your own ideas and projects and network interdisciplinarily both within and outside of university life

The Creative Arts Practice profile is right for you if you want to realise independent, project-oriented artistic endeavours in interdisciplinary and multimedia contexts. This takes place in an open and cross-disciplinary exchange. This allows you to deepen your reflective and communication skills with regard to your own artistic principles. Collaborative work also opens up interdisciplinary networking opportunities for you.

In addition to artistic work on an instrument or voice, are you interested in

  • developing independent musical and performative staging skills?
  • the artistic use of multimedia techniques and technologies, as well as perspectives on music theory and musicology, including composition techniques such as new music and improvisation?
  • the exploration of relevant contexts of linguistic discourse on current musical and artistic creation?

Yes? If so, the Creative Arts Practice profile is the right one for you!

Creative Arts Practice is aimed at anyone who wants to develop in a variety of ways and challenge, complement and combine their own instrumental practice with multimedia, technological and theatrical-performative aspects. Individual design with an independent selection from suitable courses offered by the universities is supported by advice from the teaching staff.

In the elective area, further courses can be taken to develop creative horizons in the best possible way. The profile can be chosen from all artistic core areas and is particularly recommended for students with a keen interest in interdisciplinary exchange and collaborative work.
