Bring Your Own Sound Project

Would you like to create something auditory that you have previously designed or researched without sound? Then you've come to the right place: submit your innovative sound idea in the form of a project concept in the field of audio, sound or music. We will evaluate the potential of your idea and how we can best support you and guide you to a successful master's degree. You will have the freedom to realise exactly what has always fascinated you about audio design and for which the academic framework has been lacking until now.

The programme is geared towards creative and curious individuals from a variety of disciplines, such as: Music | Producing | Computer Science | Architecture | Design | Scenography | Economics | (Natural) Sciences | Education ...

What can you expect from Audio Experience Design?

Audio Experience Design (Master of Arts) is a four-semester part-time programme that you can tailor to your own interests.

  • The focus is on developing audio experiences at the interfaces of music, sound, language, technology, design, user experience and design research. We support you on both a practical and academic level in designing, implementing and critically reflecting on interdisciplinary projects. The programme promotes both creative experimentation and methodological expertise in order to develop innovative experiences.

In the first two semesters, you will focus on your own project, which will be supported by accompanying seminars on design research and individual supervision by experienced teachers. Workshops with external experts will open up additional perspectives and enrich your work. In addition, you will carry out a smaller, interdisciplinary project together with students from other part-time Master's programmes in order to incorporate different perspectives and approaches. From the third semester onwards, the focus will be on your Master's project, which may (but does not have to) build on your project from the first year of study.

What are you taking with you?

The programme enables you to analyse, design and implement interdisciplinary projects at the intersection of audio, technology and user experience. You will make artistic decisions with a focus on innovation, originality and social value (social value design) and develop into a creative, reflective professional who can competently and confidently tackle complex challenges.
