Music moves

Combine music, movement, voice and materials in your own artistic practice and in your teaching practice with groups of different ages. Develop your own style and artistic concepts for yourself and for groups.

 In the interdisciplinary field of music and movement, we focus on the development and implementation of improvisation, staging and performance concepts. Depending on your specialisation, the focus will be more on artistic or artistic-pedagogical content. In any case, you will refine your

  • Body awareness
  • Dance and movement techniques
  • Movement improvisation
  • Instrumental or vocal improvisation in the tonal and free-tonal range
  • Interactive music and movement improvisation
  • Speech technique and text interpretation
  • Interdisciplinarity in connection with analogue and digital musical and non-musical arts
  • Dramaturgy, choreography, staging and performance.

Artistic development processes are reflected upon, also in the context of society, democracy, sustainability and digitalisation.


In terms of artistic-pedagogical orientation, further focal points include:

  • Teaching practice with children
  • Teaching practice with adults
  • Subject didactics and methodology of music and movement/rhythmics

During your studies, you will learn to develop and enrich your potential and apply it in an artistic or artistic-pedagogical context. You will also learn to reflect on your own artistic or artistic-pedagogical activities and position them within current artistic and social discourses:

  • Design processes in music and movement artistically and pedagogically
  • independently design and reflect
  • select elements from modern and contemporary
  • dance techniques and use them flexibly
  • reflect on one's own artistic and pedagogical actions as well as the
  • actions of others
  • position interpretative concepts and repertoire choices within current artistic and social discourses
  • learning and design processes in music

Music and movement in film
