Mastery begins here

The university's diverse range of courses is integrated into a varied and broad study programme through interdisciplinary cooperation projects with early music, the song institute, jazz and pop, theatre, speech, rhythmics, choirs and the State Centre for Music Design Performance, preparing students for the demands of a career in music. Renowned guest lecturers and external career counselling complement the department's faculty.

The programme focuses on providing excellent vocal training tailored to your abilities, individual needs, challenges and opportunities. The lessons are based on a combination of traditional vocal teaching methods and the latest scientific and pedagogical findings.

Enjoying singing is the most important prerequisite for studying voice. But of course, you should also have sufficient talent to be able to pursue a career as a singer or teacher later on. You can demonstrate your aptitude in the entrance examination.

The exact requirements for the individual degree programmes can be found in the  enrolment regulations

Yes, of course. Of course, the opera repertoire is part of our vocal training. We lay the vocal foundations that will enable you to hold your own on the opera stage.

If you are aiming for the big stage, apply for
the Podium and Orchestra Master's programme or
the six-semester part-time Master's programme in Stage and Orchestra Practice

Vocal studies can be chosen as a major subject in all of the degree programmes offered. Choose between artistic or artistic-pedagogical, full-time or part-time, focused on your instrument or open to new paths:

Bachelor Podium and Orchestra
Bachelor Music Pedagogy
Bachelor Secondary School Education
Master Podium and Orchestra
Master Music Pedagogy
Master Secondary School Education
Master Stage and Orchestra Practice (Part-time Master, 120 ECTS, 6 semesters)
Master Chamber Music (Part-time Master, 120 ECTS, 6 semesters)
Master Creative Arts Practice (Part-time Master, 60 ECTS, 4 semesters)
Master Music and Society (Part-time Master, 60 ECTS, 4 semesters)

But of course, young students are also welcome,
and those who are still looking for that ‘final polish’ can apply for the Konzertexamen.

Systematically explore how the singing voice works. Learn the physiological, psychological and artistic prerequisites for using your voice in a stylistically appropriate and sustainable way, combining singing and body movement. Reflect on methods of teaching singing on stage and in the classroom.

The vocal studies programme at the Trossingen University of Music is career-oriented and excellently positioned both artistically and pedagogically. It is based on a concept of teamwork and methodological openness in line with the latest research.
